Our mission is to live lives of worship, celebrating God’s presence in our midst. Worship is more than singing, it is an attitude of the heart, a way of life. This week, join us at 12:00 pm and 5:00 pm, as we pause, come to stillness and become aware of all the many reason we can praise God with our hearts and lives. Continue the conversation here.
Belonging Re-Imagined

Our mission is to pursue the Kingdom of God as a community. Crossroads is not a place where you become a member. It is a place you come to belong. You belong to us. We belong to you. We carry each others’ burdens, celebrate each others’ joys. We pray with one another and we pray for one another. True community is a gift and a challenge – both of which we have accepted. We are convinced that the way of Jesus can not be lived alone. This week, join us at 12:00 pm and 5:00 pm as we pause, come to stillness and thank God for our community. Continue the conversation here.

Our mission is to join God in his Kingdom project of justice, renewal and redemption. We believe the legitimacy of our faith and our community comes from our selfless service; becoming Good News to the poor and the oppressed, the broken and the lost. We believe the church is at its best when it serves, sacrifices and loves, caring about the things God cares about. This week, join us at 12:00 pm and 5:00 pm, as we pause, come to stillness and prayerfully have a conversation with God about how we are being called to join a movement to renew our neighborhood. Blood Drive on April 24

Giving blood is one of the most generous gifts a human being can give to another. Every day hundreds of people in our region need blood. We often think first of victims from an auto crash or a traumatic industrial accident. We imagine doctors in the emergency room working frantically and calling for blood to save a life. However, many more people also need transfusions including: burn patients, those fighting cancer and leukemia, many premature babies, those going for heart surgery, and organ transplant recipients. All of these people will need blood or products extracted from donated blood in order to survive. It is not an exaggeration to say that regularly donating blood means you will accumulate a list of anonymous people that are alive only because you decided to give the gift of life.
Crossroads Church organizes blood drives in conjunction with BloodSource. The drives happen on a regular schedule at the frequency recommended by doctors as healthy for donors. We provide a safe and welcoming place to give blood, often with extra special refreshments. Medical staff from BloodSource take you through the process of donating. We think you will find it a very worthwhile and gratifying experience. The blood drive will begin at 12:30pm in our our worship center located at 1101 National Dr and will conclude at 4:30pm.
For more information on donating blood contact Gary Myers (himself a champion blood donor) by email at gary(a)btcsac.com.

Men2Men on April 18

Plan to attend the next Crossroads Men2Men outing on Sunday April 18th! We plan to visit the Las Mariposas Civil War Days in Mariposa CA. It will be a no-stress outing for men who are interested in having some good times with other men.
This is the most authentic Civil War reenactment in California, so there will be simulated battles in the morning and afternoon. But there is also much more to see and do. The military camps can be toured to see how soldiers of the period would have lived while fighting in the field. There will be demonstrations by period artists including a silversmith, blacksmith, seamstress, and doctor. There will also be historical presentations on key figures including President Abraham Lincoln, Gen Ulysses Grant, and Gen Robert Lee. There will be additional presentations on Harriet Tubman, Sojourner Truth, and Clara Barton.
If you’d like more information, please contact Fran King by email FYIKing(a)yahoo.com or by telephone 916-928-1433. You can also contact Tom Yambasky by email tyambasky(a)aol.com or by telephone 916-419-9541.
We really look forward to seeing each of you, and please pass this along to others that I may have missed on this mailing as all men are invited.

Friday Prayer on April 16

“I think my experience with prayer is not much different from most – the Jesus I was raised with was a cosmic santa claus. You had to be flattering to butter Him up, but also concise, as He was very busy…… Many years later I still fight my early tendencies, yet struggle I will.
“Coming to our prayer sessions on Friday nights has been a good exercise for me. I am not always in the mood but the discipline is so good in my life.
“Learning to give God control, trying to discern what His plans are, and letting Him allign my heart to His is never a boring ride! Not always easy, always worthwhile.”
– Nancy Sayers, member at Crossroads
We will begin with a potluck dinner together at 6:30. Following dinner, we will spend about an hour together in prayer and finish up around 8:00.
This is a recurring event that happens on the first and third Friday of each month at the Crossroads worship center. The next several times: Apr 16, May 7, and May 21.
