Depression Recovery Program
The Depression Recovery Program is a mental health education resource available in Sacramento, California. This eight week depression recovery program utilizes a number of scientifically proven self-help strategies that can improve mental health. The program keeps participants on medications that may have been prescribed for them. The program does not replace one’s doctor and does not substitute for a clinical psychologist in performing psychotherapy.
The program meets once a week for eight weeks. Each week includes an educational lecture (on DVD) and a break-out workbook session. Each weekly session lasts less than two hours. The program is strictly educational in nature. No voodoo or unproven “alternative” therapies are recommended. The program is professionally designed, and the content is from peer-reviewed scientific and medical journals.
The surgeon general has called major depression an “epidemic” in America. This program is an additional tool to help combat the epidemic.
A free introductory session will be held on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at 6:30 PM. The location will be at Natomas Crossroads Church, 1101 National Drive, Suite A, Sacramento, CA.
