Our Mission

The purpose of Natomas Crossroads Church is to introduce people to the life-changing power of Jesus Christ, and to invite them and help them to become fully mature followers.

Our Vision

A LOOK BACK
We affirm the central truths, or teachings, of the Christian faith.  We see ourselves in a long line of generations taking part in the endless conversation between God and people. We believe the Bible to be the voices of many who have come before us, inspired by God sharing their stories, accounts, and relationship with each other and God. In order to know where we’re going, it helps to know where we’ve been.

A LOOK FORWARD
We believe God is in the process of restoring all of creation through Jesus Christ. We believe that every church has to ask the question: “What does it look like for us to live out that future reality now?” We’re constantly exploring, questioning, and wrestling with new and creative ways to live out and communicate the teachings of Jesus. Because we see faith as a journey, change is assumed, and innovation is expected, and  welcomed.

A LOOK AT OURSELVES
We believe that God wants every part of us to be whole. We believe that the salvation Jesus offers is the only hope for the healing of our relationships with God, each other, ourselves, and creation. We believe that all of life is spiritual, and that all of our hurts, habits, and hang-ups can be restored and made whole. We value the inner journey and we invite people to be authentic, and not to shy away from the truth about who they are, and whatever it is they’re struggling with.   Authenticity is a high priority at Crossroads.

A LOOK AT OTHERS
We value the image of God in all people, everywhere. We believe that we were created to live in unity with one another. We believe that carrying each other’s burdens, sharing our possessions, praying for and confessing our sins to each other, learning to suffer and celebrate together is what church is all about.  That’s what it means to live in community; and we believe that “the way of Jesus” cannot be lived alone.

A LOOK AROUND
We believe that Jesus is God in human form and that the Church is God’s ongoing presence in the world. Led by the Spirit of God, we are passionate about relieving suffering and fighting injustice, joining with God in helping the oppressed. Jesus calls his Church to do good in the world, and we believe that the Church is at its best when it serves, sacrifices, and loves, caring about the things God cares about. Jesus said He didn’t come to be served, but to serve.  We were created to live for something bigger than ourselves.

A LOOK UP
We take great joy in allowing God to use us to change the world.  We believe all of life is sacred, hope should be available to everyone, and tomorrow can be better than today.  So, we celebrate daily, pursuing lives of hope, gratitude, and worship. While we look forward to heaven, we think we should celebrate and enjoy life now!  In fact, we believe that’s what God wants us to do—to worship Him daily.
