Giving blood is one of the most generous gifts a human being can give to another. Every day hundreds of people in our region need blood. We often think first of victims from an auto crash or a traumatic industrial accident. We imagine doctors in the emergency room working frantically and calling for blood to save a life. However, many more people also need transfusions including: burn patients, those fighting cancer and leukemia, many premature babies, those going for heart surgery, and organ transplant recipients. All of these people will need blood or products extracted from donated blood in order to survive. It is not an exaggeration to say that regularly donating blood means you will accumulate a list of anonymous people that are alive only because you decided to give the gift of life.

Crossroads Church organizes blood drives in conjunction with BloodSource. The drives happen on a regular schedule at the frequency recommended by doctors as healthy for donors. We provide a safe and welcoming place to give blood, often with extra special refreshments. Medical staff from BloodSource take you through the process of donating. We think you will find it a very worthwhile and gratifying experience. The blood drive will begin at 12:30pm in our our worship center located at 1101 National Dr and will conclude at 4:30pm.

For more information on donating blood contact Gary Myers (himself a champion blood donor) by email at gary(a)btcsac.com.

Prayer is the central avenue God uses to transform us.” – Richard Foster

We wish to be a community marked by movement in our lives. We want our souls to experience growth, expansion and development. And we have learned that this has driven us to prayer. Richard Foster’s words are beginning to ring true: To pray is to change.

Join us this Friday evening as we open our doors for prayer. Beginning at 7 pm we will have opportunities to join together to pray for one another, celebrate the joys and lament the pains in our lives in the presence of God. Those interested in exploring the contemplative prayer tradition will find our worship center open for opportunities to engage in silence, solitude and directed prayer.

Come join us as we change.

Join us this Friday as we open for prayer. Deeply rooted in our story is our desire to be a people marked by an awareness and responsiveness to God’s Presence, God’s Spirit. In prayer we enter into places of stillness and silence so God’s Spirit can be noticed and allowed to shape us.

We encounter God’s Spirit through corporate prayer and contemplative prayer. Each is an avenue for placing ourselves in the presence of the Spirit so we may be empowered to live differently. We are open for prayer. Join us at 7pm.

To get closer to God? To make a difference in your community? These yearnings are inborn—yet it may take you years to appropriately identify them. Once recognized, how do you deal with these longings, which leave you restlessly empty until satisfied? Prayer! Prayer moves you inward into personal transformation, upward toward intimacy with God, and outward to minister to others.

We will begin with a potluck dinner together at 6:30. Following dinner, we will spend about an hour together in prayer and finish up around 8:00.

This is a recurring event that happens on the first and third Friday of each month at the Crossroads worship center. The next several times: May 21, Jun 4, and Jun 18.

Crossroads exists for all of you. We deeply value creating space that allows for authenticity, for the real you to be embraced, welcomed and brought into the presence of God.

We welcome you, the real you, to join us this Friday at 7 pm as we open our doors for prayer. In prayer we learn to allow God and others to see us as we really are. We receive permission to live authentically and openly as we join with others in a conversation with God and as we come to stillness in contemplative prayer. Opportunities for both will be available.
